La Chapelle-Caro ( Gallo La Chapell Carotz , Breton Chapel-Karozh ) is a former French commune with 1,415 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Morbihan in the region of Brittany . The municipality belonged to the arrondissement of Pontivy and the canton of Moréac (until 2015: canton of Malestroit ).

With effect from January 1, 2016, La Chapelle-Caro was merged with the former municipalities of Le Roc-Saint-André and Quily to form a commune nouvelle called Val d'Oust . The former municipalities have the status of a Commune déléguée in the new municipality . The administrative headquarters are located in Le Roc-Saint-André.

geography

La Chapelle-Caro is located around 35 kilometers northeast of Vannes in the east of the department.

Neighboring towns are Montertelot in the northwest, Ploërmel in the northeast, Monterrein in the east, Caro in the southeast, Saint-Abraham in the south, Sérent in the southwest and Le Roc-Saint-André in the west.

The place had a train station on the Questembert – Ploërmel railway line .
