action

Sabina lives in a really happy relationship with Franco. When she finds out that she is expecting a child, she visits her brother Daniele, who lives in the United States, over Christmas. She wants to talk to him about her childhood. It turns out that the father of the two Daniele abused several times and the mother covered this act to maintain the family. Daniele continues to tell Sabina that he was only able to defend himself against the abuse when he suspected that the father would soon assault her too. The mother asked him not to tell anyone anything, since the father was sick, it was just a vice and he didn't want to harm anyone, which Daniele apparently did not do either. When the father later lay on his death bed and Daniele confessed that she had also abused Sabina twice when she was very young and Daniele could not see that this caused the father any remorse, he injected him with a double dose of morphine. The father fell into a coma and died a few hours later.

Meanwhile in Italy the two friends Sabinas fall in love. These are the blind Emilia, who until then had a passion for Sabina, and Maria, who was abandoned by her husband for a friend of their daughter.
