Laab is a district of Braunau am Inn and with 3246 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020) the second most populated district of the city of Braunau am Inn.
history
At the beginning of World War I , a prisoner-of-war camp was built along the Mattig , in which over 15,000 prisoners of war were housed in 120 barracks. In 1915 another large barrack camp was built in Laab . Refugees from the Italian Trentino were accommodated here. After the war ended, the camp was gradually demolished until 1979.
