The women's 10,000-meter run at the 1993 World Athletics Championships was held on August 19 and 21, 1993 in the Gottlieb Daimler Stadium in Stuttgart .

Like five days before over 3000 meters , the Chinese long-distance runners dominated the race and in the end achieved a double victory. After all, her competitors got the bronze medal this time - there were only two Chinese women at the start. Wang Junxia became world champion . She won ahead of the 1991 vice world champion and two-time Asian champion over 3000 meters (1989/1991) Zhong Huandi . Bronze went to Sally Barsosio, a Kenyan who was only fifteen .

With 39 participants it became necessary to set up a preliminary round. There were two preliminary runs. The first ten athletes per run - highlighted in light blue - as well as the five fastest runners - highlighted in light green - qualified for the quarter-finals.
