The heptathlon for women in the 1993 World Championships in Athletics was on 16 and 17 August 1993 in Stuttgart Gottlieb-Daimler-Stadion discharged.

World Champion was twice the heptathlon -Olympiasiegerin ( 1988 / 1992 ), Olympic silver medalist from 1984 and World Champion in 1987 Jackie Joyner-Kersee of the United States . She was in the long jump also Olympic champion in 1988, Olympic silver medalist in 1992 and two-time world champion (1987/ 1991 ). Second place went to the German defending champion, who was third in the 1992 Olympics and reigning European champion Sabine Braun . Bronze went to the Belarusian Swjatlana Buraha .
