The 3,000-meter run for women at the World Athletics Championships in 1993 was held on August 14 and 16, 1993 in the Gottlieb Daimler Stadium in Stuttgart .

The Chinese world champion Qu Yunxia improved the existing world championship record in the final on August 16 by 5.84 seconds to 8: 28.78 minutes.
