The women's 4 x 400 meter relay at the World Athletics Championships in 1993 was held on August 21 and 22, 1993 in the Gottlieb Daimler Stadium in Stuttgart .
World Champions were the United States in the occupation Gwen Torrence (finals), Maicel Malone-Wallace , Natasha Kaiser-Brown and Jearl Miles (finals) as well as also used in the flow Terri Dendy and Michele Collins .
Second place went to Russia with Jelena Rusina , Tatjana Alexejewa , Margarita Ponomarjowa (final) and Irina Priwalowa (final) as well as Jelena Goleschewa and Wera Sychugova, who were also used in the preliminary run .
Bronze went to Great Britain with Linda Keough , Phylis Smith , Tracy Goddard and Sally Gunnell .
The runners who were only used in the preliminary run also received the corresponding precious metal. In contrast, only the athletes who actually ran were entitled to a record.

Record improvement
The world championship relay from the United States ( Gwen Torrence , Maicel Malone-Wallace , Natasha Kaiser-Brown , Jearl Miles ) improved the existing world championship record in the final on August 22nd by 1.72 seconds to 3: 16.71 minutes.
Preliminary round
The preliminary round was held in two runs. The first three seasons per run - highlighted in light blue - as well as the two fastest teams - highlighted in light green - qualified for the final.
