The men's 400-meter run at the World Athletics Championships in 1993 was held from August 14 to 17, 1993 in the Gottlieb Daimler Stadium in Stuttgart .
The US athletes achieved a double victory in this competition. World champion became the dominant 200 and 400 meter runner of the 1990s Michael Johnson . Before these world championships he had become world champion over 200 meters in 1991 and was a member of his country's 4 x 400 meter relay in 1992 . Here in Stuttgart, too, he won a second World Cup gold medal with the US relay , his third overall. He won before the Olympic runner-up in 1988 , World Cup third in 1987 and world record holder Harry Reynolds , who in 1988 also won an Olympic gold medal as a member of his country's 4 x 400 meter relay and here, like Johnson, also over 4 x 400 meters Became world champion. Bronze went to the Kenyan Olympic third party from 1992 Samson Kitur . There was a second bronze medal for him on the final day over 4 × 400 meters.
