Laag-Soeren ( Leeg-Soeren in Lower Saxony ) is a village in the municipality of Rheden in the Dutch province of Gelderland . The village has 838 inhabitants, making it the smallest village in the municipality. It is on the edge of the Veluwe , towards Eerbeek .
Near the village is the Elsberg , a 90 meter high hill. In the 19th century, Laag-Soeren became the first health resort in the Netherlands. Today the spa facilities no longer exist.
