Laba is a village in the Garhanga rural community in Niger .

The village is located about 19 kilometers northeast of Garhanga, the capital of the rural municipality of the same name, which belongs to the Keita department in the Tahoua region. The larger villages in the area include Déoulé, around eleven kilometers southeast, and Tchimbaba Tané, around thirteen kilometers northeast . The settlement consists of three parts, each headed by their own traditional local chiefs ( chefs traditionnels ): Laba Guébe, Laba Tchédia and Laba Toudou. Laba is located in the east of the Ader Doutchi mountain range . The village is the capital of the 365 km² Laba Valley, which extends west to the municipality of Tamaské .

At the 2012 census, Laba had 6,712 inhabitants who lived in 866 households. At the 2001 census, the population was 3,774 in 548 households, and at the 1988 census, the population was 3,099 in 529 households.

National Road 16 runs through Laba and connects the village with the towns of Bouza and Keita . Compared to other villages in the Keita department, the farmers of Laba have to travel long distances to get to their fields. The cultivation of onions, which was widespread throughout the region with the drought of the 1970s and 1980s, dates back to the 1920s in the Laba Valley. There is a secondary school in the village, a Collège d'Enseignement Général (CEG).
