Lakewood is a Filipino municipality in the province of Zamboanga del Sur on the island of Mindanao . It has 20,374 inhabitants (August 1, 2015 census) who live in 14 barangays .
Lakewood was named after Wood Lake (English Lake Wood), which is located in the southwestern municipality and is an important source of income for the local population due to the fishing in the lake and the development of tourism. The community is located approx. 42 km west of the provincial capital Pagadian City , north of the Mount Timolan Protected Landscape and can be reached via the Maharlika Highway .
