The District Court of Weilheim came into being after the Wittelsbachers had acquired the count's rights, property and fiefdoms of the Andechser in 1248 and combined with their own estates to form the Pähl Court since 1253 .

Official territory

In the north, the court border corresponded to the border between the Diocese of Freising and the Diocese of Augsburg between Amper and Würm . In the east, the border ran past Lake Starnberg and met the Loisach near Achrain . The southern border was formed in the 13th century by the Loisach between Kochelsee and Hechendorf . In the west, the border was on the Staffelsee and Ammersee line .

construction

The following courts were subordinate to the Weilheim district court:

At the end of the 14th century, the district court of Weilheim was divided into upper office, middle office and sub office. The henchman of the Oberamt had his seat in Eberfing and since the 16th century in Obersöchering . The henchman of the Mitteramt had his seat in Pähl .

In the course of the 17th century, there was a separation of the tasks between the district judge responsible for the judiciary and the nurse responsible for military and administrative tasks .

As early as the 16th century, a maintenance lock (no longer available today) was built in Weilheim for the district judge and a fruit box (see photo above) for the payments in kind.

resolution

In 1803, in the course of the administrative reorganization of Bavaria, the old regional courts were abolished and the regional courts of the older order were created. This is how the Weilheim district court (older order) , which was the judicial and administrative authority, was created.
