Landry Jones (* 4. April 1989 in Artesia , New Mexico ) is an American American football poker players at the position of quarterback . He currently plays for the Dallas Renegades in the XFL .
college
Jones played college football for the University of Oklahoma from 2009 to 2012 . His first appearance for the Oklahoma Sooners was in their first game in 2009, when then quarterback Sam Bradford was out against Brigham Young University with a shoulder injury. The next two games, Jones began as starting quarterback . The Sooners won the first 64-0 against Idaho State University , and in the second game he threw six touchdowns in a 45-0 win over the University of Tulsa - a new team record for the Sooners.
In 2010, he led the Sooners to the Bowl Championship Series . In the Fiesta Bowl against the University of Connecticut , he led the Sooners with the 48:20 win for the first BCS victory since 2002.
NFL
Jones was selected by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 4th round of the 2013 NFL Draft . As part of the final squad reduction to 53 players before the start of the 2018 regular season , he was dismissed.
After a short interlude with the Jacksonville Jaguars, for which he did not play a game, he was signed by the Oakland Raiders on March 26, 2019 after his release (November 2018).

Landry Jones is named after Tom Landry , the former head coach of the Dallas Cowboys . Prior to his senior year in college, on July 6, 2012, he married Whitney Hand, a player on the University of Oklahoma basketball team who was drafted by the San Antonio Silver Stars of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) in April 2013 .
