Lansford Spence (born December 15, 1982 in Hanover Parish ) is a Jamaican sprinter . He won bronze at two world championships with the 4 x 400 meter relay .

Life

At the Pan American Games in 2003 in Santo Domingo , he won the title in the 4-by-400-meter relay together with Michael Campbell , Sanjay Ayre and Davian Clarke .

At the World Championships in Helsinki in 2005 , he won a bronze medal in the relay. Together with Sanjay Ayre, Brandon Simpson and Davian Clarke, he only had to admit defeat to the US and Bahamas seasons in 2: 58.07 min . Spence also started in Helsinki in the 400-meter run, but was eliminated in the semifinals. In 2006 he won another bronze medal with the relay at the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne . He also took eighth place there over 400 m.

In 2008, he joined with the relay at the Olympic Games in Beijing on. This qualified as the fourth fastest team in the qualifying round for the final, but only finished eighth and last place there.

In 2009 Spence tested positive for methylxanthine at the Jamaican championships and was then banned for three months for doping . At the Commonwealth Games in New Delhi in 2010 , Spence won the silver medal in the 200-meter run with a personal best of 20.49 seconds . He won another silver medal in the 4 x 100 meter relay .

At the 2011 World Championships , Spence was used in the run-up to the Jamaican 4-by-400-meter bronze relay. Shortly thereafter, he won the silver medal over 200 m at the Pan American Games .

Lansford Spence is 1.88 m tall and has a competition weight of 75 kg.
