Larry J. Franco

Larry Joseph Franco (born April 5, 1949 in Sonora , California ) is an American film producer and film director .

Life

After graduating from UCLA film school , Larry J. Franco joined the Directors Guild of America training program and was able to work as an intern on the war film Battle of Midway in 1976 . After successfully completing the program in 1976, he worked as an assistant director to directors such as Mark Rydell , John Frankenheimer and Dick Richards in their films And Tomorrow A Thing Will Be Made , Black Sunday and March or Die . In 1979 he met John Carpenter , whom he assisted in Elvis and The Fog . It was he who first considered him as a producer for his film The Rattlesnake . This collaboration was so successful that it lasted until 1988 Live with You . From then on, Franco finally switched to the producer area and produced films like Mars Attacks! , Batman Begins and 2012 .

Until his divorce on September 21, 1984 Franco was married to Bing Russell's daughter Jill Russel and was thus also the brother-in-law of Kurt Russell . They both have three children together. Two of his sons are former professional baseball players Matt Franco and Phronsie Franco .
