Larry Keith also Lawrence Keith , (born March 1, 1931 in New York City as Lawrence Jay Korn , † July 18, 2010 ) was an American actor .

Life

Larry Keith was born in Brooklyn , New York . He played theater roles on Broadway from the 1950s . In 1956, he was Jamie and other minor roles in the premiere cast of the musical My Fair Lady . In the 1964/65 season he took on the role of Dr. on Broadway at the Alvin Theater under the direction of Noël Coward. Bradman in the musical comedy High Spirits ; at the same time he was there understudy of Edward Woodward for the role of Charles Condomine . In 1973 he was engaged at the Uris Theater in the musical Gigi as the cover of Alfred Drake for the role of Honoré Lachailles . After a long break from the theater, he took over the role of Isidor Strauss in the musical Titanic at the Lunt-Fontanne Theater in 1997 . From April 2001 to January 2002 he played the role of Mr. Schultz in the musical Cabaret . His last role on Broadway was in 2004 at the Eugene O'Neill Theater in Caroline, or Change by Tony Kushner .

Keith also took on a number of film and television roles during his career . However, theater work remained the focus of his artistic work. In the 1960s he played the role of Lefty Burns in the television series Another World . He gained notoriety on television as Nick Davis in the television series All My Children . Keith was part of the initial cast from 1970 and was continuously on the series until 1978; thereafter he kept coming back for guest appearances. His last appearance on the series was in 2005. He also played episode roles and guest roles in the series Law & Order and Damages - Im Netz der Macht .

In 1977 and 1978 Keith was nominated for Best Actor for Outstanding Actor in a Daytime Drama Series at the Daytime Emmy Awards .

Keith died of cancer .
