Lars Amend

Lars Amend (* 1978 in Giessen ) is a German author and mental trainer . He was best known for his book and the film of the same name This stupid heart .

Life

After graduating from high school, he emigrated to London at the age of 18 . In his early twenties he worked as a music editor and journalist. Amend worked for hr XXL , YOU FM , VIVA , Radio Fritz , JETZT-Magazin and the Berliner Tagesspiegel , among others . In 2008 he made his debut as a writer and together with Bushido published the "autobiographical" book Bushido of the same name . This was soon number 1 on the SPIEGEL bestseller list and was one of the best-selling non-fiction books of the year . In 2010 Bernd Eichinger filmed the book (with Moritz Bleibtreu , Hannelore Elsner , Karel Gott , Uwe Ochsenknecht , Kay One, among others ) under the title Times Change You .

He later wrote the biographical motivational book Rock Your Life together with Scorpions founder Rudolf Schenker .

In 2012, Amend met Daniel Meyer, who had heart disease in a children's hospice in Hamburg, and decided to grant the then 15-year-old boy his last wishes. The SPIEGEL bestseller This stupid heart emerged from these adventures in 2013 . The film of the same name " This stupid heart " (with Elyas M'Barek in the role of Lars Amend) was released in December 2017 and, after Fack ju Göhte 3, was the most successful German film of the year with over 2 million visitors.

Together with Daniel Aminati , Amend runs the podcast Die Glücksritter , the first edition of which debuted at number 1 on the German iTunes charts in December 2017. He is the brother of Christoph Amend .
