history
On the Austrian map by Friedrich von Mieg (1779–1783), which was created after the First Partition of Poland , two small hamlets Wililonka and Poliwoda were drawn in at this point. These were later named Las (literally forest) and Podlesie (a village under the forest) and belonged to the Przeciszów municipality in the Wadowice district , from 1910 in the Oświęcim district .
In 1918, after the end of the First World War and the collapse of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy, Las came to Poland. This was only interrupted by the occupation of Poland by the Wehrmacht in World War II . It then belonged to the district of Bielitz in the administrative district of Katowice in the province of Silesia (since 1941 province of Upper Silesia ).
After the war, Las became part of the Zator municipality, from 1954 in the Gromada Przeciszów . Since 1973 in the Przeciszów commune. From 1975 to 1998 Las was part of the Bielsko-Biała Voivodeship .
