Laubach is a small district of Hann. Münden . Laubach gained archaeological importance through the nearby Kring .

geography

The place is between Hann. Münden and Hedemünden on the edge of the Kaufunger Forest on a slope on the Werra and within sight of the Hedemünden bridge over the Werra valley . The Laubach stream of the same name flows below the village and flows into the Werra near the village. The remains of the medieval Spiegelburg are located on a hill on the Werra to the south-east of the district . Another ground monument is the Kring ring wall to the south on the Ravensberg.

The place was first mentioned in 1353 as part of the Loypach , further mentions were made in 1374 as Loupach . In 1432 an Ecclesia is mentioned in Loupach . In the earliest times, Laubach was part of the Ditmelle deanery . Around 1500 the place was desolate , it was not mentioned again as a village until 1563. Until 1832 it belonged as an exclave to the Electorate of Hesse ( office or district of Witzenhausen ) and then came to the Kingdom of Hanover in exchange for the place Wahnhausen .

In 1867 the place had 204 inhabitants, in 1875 there were only 180.

In 1956, 1957 and 1962 Laubach won the 1st prize "The beautiful village" in a forerunner competition for Our village has a future . Throughout Lower Saxony, the village received third place in 1963, second in 1965 and again in 1967. At the federal level, Laubach won the bronze medal in 1967.

On January 1, 1973, Laubach was transferred to the city of Hann. Münden incorporated.

The Laubach stop was on the Halle – Hann railway line. Münden . No trains stop there today.
