Oberode is a district of Hann. Münden in southern Lower Saxony on the left bank of the Werra .

history

The place was first mentioned in 1355. At that time it was sold by the Plessen to Ernst I (Braunschweig-Göttingen) . Some documents also indicate that Oberode belongs to the Ziegenberg family. However, settlement in the area is much older. This is evidenced by the almost 3 dozen barrows in the Kattebühl state forest on the Ravensberg, as well as the Kring , where bronze finds were made in 1881 and 1887. Do these systems date to around 1000 BC? Chr., And the Roman Empire , so both found in the district Oberode derived debris lobes from the New Stone Age to 4000 v. Chr.

In modern times from the 17th century onwards, pottery, which Werrakeramik produced, was an important branch of business. At times up to 35 potters lived in the village. The clay was fetched from the Steinberg and the goods shipped down the Weser, among other things. The noble families von Berlepsch , von Buttlar and von Siegel raised interest, tithes and natural goods from Oberode, which was an enormous burden for the village. The population rose from 23 people at the beginning of the 18th century to 388 in 1867. In 1871 there were 399, while for 1875 there were 397 residents, spread over 72 residential buildings and 85 households. Not far Oberodes once stood today desolate fallen villages Enzerode and Hohenloh.

Oberode was incorporated into the city of Münden on January 1, 1973. On December 31, 2012, Oberode had 790 residents.
