The Laufbacher Eck is a 2178 m high grass mountain peak in the Allgäu Alps . It is located southeast of the Lachenkopf and north of the Rotkopf , from which it is separated by the Laufbacher-Eck-Sattel . The Höhenweg from Edmund-Probst-Haus to Prinz-Luitpold-Haus runs over this saddle . At Laufbacher Eck, a ridge branches off to the northeast with the Salober , Berggächtle and Giebel peaks .
The Laufbacher Eck can be easily reached in a few minutes from the Laufbacher Eck saddle. It offers an excellent view of the Höfats , the Thumb Group , the Allgäu main ridge and the mountains around the Kleinwalsertal .
The botany of the Laufbacher Eck is just as diverse as that of Höfats or Schneck . Therefore, as with the Höfats, a mountain rescue post ensures the protection of botanical rarities during the summer months .
