Laura Huonker (born July 3, 1981 in Zurich ) is a Swiss director and politician ( AL ).

life and career

Laura Huonker, daughter of the historian Thomas Huonker and the theologian and therapist Renata Huonker-Jenny, grew up in her hometown of Zurich and did her Matura here . After studying sociology , history and theater studies at the University of Bern , she completed her directing studies at the Zurich University of the Arts . Her directorial work has taken her to the independent scene and to various city theaters in Germany and abroad. She directed dramas and scripts, a. a. by Elfriede Jelinek Prinzessinnendramen / Die Wand as part of the Zürcher Festspiele '07 (Swiss premiere) and by Rainer Werner Fassbinder Fear Eats Soul in the Baden-Baden Theater (2014).

One focus of her work is the development of plays with theater ensembles or amateur actors as well as productions with mixed and intercultural cast: at the Maxim Theater Zurich Shakespeare Transit. A small world theater with music (2017); with her collective Rock the Babies the production “Rolling Conscience” (tour of the city and canton of Zurich, 2016); Who is Erlangen? (Theater Erlangen , 2015); With young people and professionals, she premiered a home video based on the film of the same name by Jan Braren at the Baden-Baden Theater (2013). This production was invited to the Heidelberg Stückemarkt 2014.
