Laurenz Lütteken
Laurenz Lütteken (born September 9, 1964 in Essen ) is a German musicologist . He has been full professor of musicology at the University of Zurich since 2001 .
Life
Laurenz Lütteken studied musicology, German literature and art history at the Universities of Münster ( Klaus Hortschansky ) and Heidelberg ( Ludwig Finscher ). In 1991 he received his doctorate in Münster with a thesis on Guillaume Dufay . After working as a freelance journalist and receiving scholarships at the German Historical Institute in Rome , at the Herzog August Library in Wolfenbüttel and the Fritz Thyssen Foundation , Lütteken was an assistant at the musicological seminar at the University of Münster from 1992 to 1995. In 1995 he also received his habilitation there, and was appointed university lecturer. In 1995/96 he was acting head of the musicology seminar at Heidelberg University for one year . He then taught at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg . In 1996 he was appointed to the chair for musicology at the University of Marburg , after which he turned down calls to Bochum and (2000) to Leipzig . Since 2001 he has been professor of musicology at the University of Zurich.
He wrote numerous publications on music from the 14th to the 20th century. The main areas of work are the music of the late Middle Ages or the Renaissance and the 18th century as well as the history of musical genres and ideas. He is a member of the Academia Europaea , London and the Academy for Mozart Research , Salzburg.
Lütteken is married to the Germanist Anett Lütteken (* 1966), head of the manuscript department of the Zurich Central Library .
