Hans-Joachim Hinrichsen

Hans-Joachim Hinrichsen (born August 21, 1952 in Westerland on Sylt ) has been professor of musicology at the University of Zurich since 1999 .

Career

Hinrichsen studied German and history at the Free University of Berlin . The completion of the state examination (1980) was followed by a teaching phase at the grammar school . As a result, he completed his studies in musicology at the Free University of Berlin, which he obtained in 1992 with the Dr. phil. completed.

From 1989 to 1994 he was a research assistant at the Musicological Institute of the Free University of Berlin. In 1998 he qualified as a professor with the subject of musical interpretation as a cultural practice. Hans von Bülow and the Aesthetic Construction of German Music .

Hans-Joachim Hinrichsen has been Professor of Musicology at the University of Zurich since 1999. In 2008 he was elected a member of the Academia Europaea .

Hinrichsen is co-editor of the “ Archive for Musicology ” and “Schubert: Perspektiven” at Franz Steiner Verlag . In addition, he chaired the Allgemeine Musik-Gesellschaft Zürich (AMG) from 2001–2007 and the International Bach Society Schaffhausen (IBG) to this day.

His main research interests include Johann Sebastian Bach and Franz Schubert as well as music analysis studies.
