Lawrence Elery Wilson

Lawrence Elery Wilson (born July 7, 1884 in Village , Columbia County , Arkansas , †  June 23, 1946 ) was an American politician . Between 1931 and 1933 he was lieutenant governor of the state of Arkansas.

Career

Lawrence Wilson attended the public schools in his home country and then taught himself for some time as a teacher. Then he worked in the wood industry. From 1917 he lived in Camden , where he worked in commerce. At the same time he embarked on a political career as a member of the Democratic Party . Between 1922 and 1926 he was employed in Ouachita County as a Circuit and Chancery Clerk . He then sat from 1926 to 1929 as an MP in the Arkansas House of Representatives .

In 1930, Wilson was elected Lieutenant Governor of Arkansas alongside Harvey Parnell . He held this office between 1931 and 1933. He was Deputy Governor and Chairman of the State Senate . After the end of his time as Lieutenant Governor, he no longer appeared politically. He died on June 23, 1946.
