Mark Darr

Mark A. Darr (born July 3, 1973 in Fort Smith , Arkansas ) is an American politician . Since 2011 he has been the lieutenant governor of the state of Arkansas.

Career

Mark Darr attended Mansfield High School and then studied at Quachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia . Politically, he became a member of the Republican Party . Until he was elected vice governor of his state, he did not hold any public office. He is an insurance agent and co-owner of two restaurants in Rogers .

In 2010, Darr was elected lieutenant governor of the state of Arkansas. He has held this office since 2011. He is Deputy to Democratic Governor Mike Beebe and Chairman of the State Senate . In August 2013, Darr was considering running for the 2014 congressional elections, but withdrew when critical voices questioned his funding for the lieutenant governor's election. He has not yet decided on a possible renewed candidacy for the office of lieutenant governor in 2014.

Mark Darr is married and has two children. He is a member of the National Rifle Association .
