Lawrence Pius Dorairaj
Lawrence Pius Dorairaj (born June 14, 1954 in Chennai , Tamil Nadu , India ) is an Indian clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Dharmapuri .
Life
Lawrence Pius Dorairaj was ordained a priest on December 28, 1981 .
Pope John Paul II appointed him titular bishop of Absa Salla and auxiliary bishop in Madras-Mylapore on November 28, 1998 . He was ordained episcopate on February 21, 1999 by the Archbishop of Madras-Mylapore, James Masilamony Arul Das ; Co- consecrators were Ambrose Mathalaimuthu , Bishop of Coimbatore , and Malayappan Chinnappa SDB , Bishop of Vellore .
Pope Benedict XVI appointed him bishop of Dharmapuri on January 13, 2012.
On March 9, 2020, he was also appointed Apostolic Administrator of the Diocese of Salem for the period of the Sedis vacancy .
