Le Massegros is a former French commune with 417 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Lozère department in the Occitanie region . The inhabitants are called massegrains .

With effect from January 1, 2017, Le Massegros was merged with the municipalities of Les Vignes , Le Recoux , Saint-Georges-de-Lévéjac and Saint-Rome-de-Dolan to form a commune nouvelle called Massegros Causses Gorges , where it has been since then has the status of a Commune déléguée .

geography

Le Massegros is located about 75 kilometers west-northwest of Alès in the Gorges du Tarn or in the Causses de Sauveterre . The former National Route 595 runs through the village .
