Le Théâtre
Le Théâtre, Emmen is a theater as well as an event, seminar and congress center with a restaurant in Emmenbrücke . It was created in 2017 through the merger of Le Théâtre Kriens-Luzern, which has existed since 2006, and the Gersag congress center .
history
In October 2006, the first commercial building from the early 1980s in the Kriens industrial zone was converted into a theater as part of a renovation. Le Théâtre Kriens-Luzern was best known nationwide for its productions of the musical genre . Concerts, cabaret and drama complete the programming. The house was also rented out to companies and institutions for private occasions.
In 1974 the Gersag congress center with the restaurant of the same name was opened in Emmenbrücke . This building complex operated by the municipality of Emmen was mainly used as a community center for the events of the local associations in the first few decades. Later came national tours of comedians, musicals and other show productions. In March 2016, the municipality of Emmen and Le Théâtre announced the intention to transfer the musical house from Kriens to Emmen at the Gersag congress center. On March 21, 2017, this intention was politically sanctioned. The house will be renovated in summer 2017. The house was officially opened on November 25, 2017.
Le Théâtre works privately, so it does not receive any subsidies from the municipality or the canton. The company is financed by admissions, regional companies and the Les Amis du Théâtre association .
Infrastructure
Le Théâtre consists of a large hall for a maximum of 670 people in theater and 800 in concert seating. In the auditorium, an ascending ramp with a maximum capacity of 550 people will be built for musical and theater productions. The hall is used unobstructed for other occasions with catering. There are also nine other halls of various sizes and the Prélude restaurant (formerly Gersag restaurant) with 80 seats. There are 300 m² of seminar and rehearsal rooms in the basement of the theater building.
