Jolanda Steiner (born March 16, 1961 in Lucerne ) is a Swiss author and storyteller .

Life

Jolanda Steiner grew up in Kriens in the canton of Lucerne and attended the kindergarten seminar. From 1981 to 1992 she worked as a kindergarten teacher in Kriens. Since 1984 she has been working, first part-time, then full-time, writing and producing programs for radio and television, sound carriers, books and theater performances for children. Jolanda Steiner was voted the Swiss fairy tale queen by Migros magazine and a children's jury in March 2014 . She lives with her family in Kriens.

Other Projects

In 1988 her first record with Christmas stories by Max Bolliger "De Wiehnachtsnarr" was released. In 1990, Jolanda Steiner was commissioned to create a child-friendly Christmas story for the planetarium of the Verkehrshaus Luzern and to include the starry sky. The “D'Wiehnachtsgschicht” program is a popular program that is still shown every day in December in the planetarium in four languages.

Her fairy tales, framed with percussion instruments , are performed in Switzerland, Austria and Germany. In collaboration with various musicians, she has produced numerous sound carriers. As a writer and producer, Jolanda Steiner works primarily with classical orchestras.

Since 2003 she has been on tour with the recorder virtuoso Maurice Steger with her own musical fairy tales ("Tino Flautino and his magical flute playing", "Tino Flautino and the magic melody" and "Pinocchio and the flute player"). She realized projects together with the Zurich Chamber Orchestra , the Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich , the Basel Symphony Orchestra , the Bern Symphony Orchestra and the Brandenburg State Orchestra .

For the setting of the picture book “Bim, Bam, Bum” by Max Bolliger , she received the Swiss fairy tale Oscar “S goldig Chröndli” (1st place). In 2005 she achieved the highest number of points for the sound carrier “Wiehnachte” in the short stories / stories category. Jolanda Steiner has been on tour with the Lilibiggs Children's Concerts every year since 2007 .
