Maurice Steger

Maurice Steger (* 1971 in Winterthur , Switzerland ) is an internationally active recorder player and conductor , he mainly works in the field of historical performance practice .

Musical activities

As a conductor, Maurice Steger works with symphonic orchestras around the world, his most important partners include the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra , the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra , the Zurich Chamber Orchestra , the Orchestra della Svizzera italiana , the Brandenburg State Orchestra , Les Violons du Roy, the Basel Symphony Orchestra and the NDR Radiophilharmonie or the Taipei Symphony Orchestra. He regularly lectures at international master courses in Europe, Asia, Africa and America and has been director of the Gstaad Baroque Academy since 2013, which is organized annually by the Gstaad Menuhin Festival . Maurice Steger is the artistic director of the Stockstadt Recorder Festival .
