Leandro Ezquerra , full name Leandro Ezquerra de León , (born June 5, 1986 in Montevideo ) is a Uruguayan football player .

Career

society

The 1.77 meter tall midfielder Ezquerra was at the beginning of his career from the Clausura 2003 to the Clausura 2009 in the ranks of the Montevideo-based first division team River Plate Montevideo . A first division goal was recorded for him in the 2008/09 season. In the 2009/10 season he played for league rivals Defensor Sporting and played twelve games (no goal) in the Primera División at the club, which is also located in the Uruguayan capital . Since the Apertura 2010, River Plate Montevideo has been his employer again. In the 2010/11 season he played in eleven first division games (no goal) and two matches (no goal) of the Copa Sudamericana . For Apertura 2011 he joined El Tanque Sisley . There he completed ten first division games (one goal). At the end of the year, his career path led abroad for the first time. He started an engagement in Brazil with Brasil de Pelotas . At the beginning of August 2012 he moved to the north of South America to Atlético Venezuela . With the Venezuelans he met five times in 29 appearances in the Primera División . In October 2013 he returned to Uruguay and signed with the first division racing team . The coach placed him 16 times in the top Uruguayan league in the 2013/14 season. Ezquerra scored four goals. After the Clausura 2014 he left the club and joined the first division club Huachipato from Chile . In the 2014/15 season he was used 29 times (one goal) in the Chilean Primera División , once (no goal) in the Copa Chile and six times (no goal) in the Copa Sudamericana 2014 . He returned to Racing in July 2015. In the 2015/16 season he played 22 top division games and scored five goals. At the beginning of January 2017, he moved to Juventud within the league . At the club from Las Piedras he was used in the Apertura and the Torneo Intermedio in a total of 19 first division games (one goal).

On July 23, 2017, he left the club with Damián Macaluso and Roberto Hernández with immediate effect due to differences with the club management .

National team

Ezquerra belonged to the U-17 team of Uruguay coached by Jorge Da Silva , who took part in the U-17 South American Championship in Bolivia in 2003 and finished in 4th place. 2005 was the part of the squad of the Uruguayan U-20 selection at the U-20 South American Championship 2005 in Colombia . At least in June 2007 he was a member of the U-23 team of Uruguay, which was supervised by Roland Marcenaro . He made his debut on September 12, 2007 in the 0-0 draw in the friendly against South Africa under coach Óscar Tabárez in the Uruguayan senior team when he came on in the 84th minute for Jorge Fucile . Another international match did not follow.
