Jorge Fucile 2010

Jorge Fucile , full name Jorge Ciro Fucile Perdomo , (born November 19, 1984 in Montevideo ) is a Uruguayan football player . The full-back is currently under contract with Nacional Montevideo . While he plays on the right side in the club, he mostly plays on the left in the back four in the national team.

Career

In the club

After starting his career in 2002 at Liverpool Montevideo , where he made eleven appearances (no goal) in his first year in Apertura and Clausura , he was awarded one year at FC Porto in 2006 . After a good season in the SuperLiga , he convinced coach Jesualdo Ferreira in 18 appearances (one goal), so that he was committed for a transfer fee of 600,000 euros and provided with a contract until 2010. By the end of the 2009/2010 season, 59 more missions (no goal) have been booked for Fucile in Porto's top division. In September 2010 his contract extension to 2014 was announced and a contract term until June 2014 was later confirmed. In the 2010/11 and 2011/12 seasons 16 and seven more games were added in the first Portuguese division.

In total, he played over 150 official games for Porto, but most recently had a difficult time under coach Vítor Pereira .

At the beginning of 2012 he was loaned to FC Santos for the entire calendar year. There he only came to nine missions (no goal) in the Campeonato Paulista due to injury . The return to Portugal followed. In March 2013, he temporarily returned to Porto's first team due to the injury of seven players. In the 2013/14 season, another league appearance in the first division team, a game in the national cup competition and a completed game with the reserve team playing in the Liga de Honra are registered. According to reports in the Portuguese press, Fucile, who had been injured for a long time, was eliminated from the professional team in early November 2013. This was preceded by a heated discussion with coach Paulo Fonseca , in which Fucile raised his disregard despite his recovery and nominations for the national team. For the 2014/15 season he moved back to his Uruguayan homeland and agreed with Nacional Montevideo on a contract for two seasons with the option of a third. In the 2014/15 season, which Nacional finished as Uruguayan champions, he was used in seven first division games (no goal). During the 2015/16 season, in which at the beginning of January 2016 he extended his expired contract by one year with an extension option for the same period, he played 21 first division matches (no goal), three games (no goal) in the Copa Sudamericana 2015 and eight games ( no goal) in the Copa Libertadores 2016 . In the 2016 season he was used in eight first division games (no goal) and won his second Uruguayan championship with the "Bolsos".

In the national team

Fucile made his debut on May 24, 2006 in a 2-0 win in a friendly against Romania under coach Óscar Tabárez with a starting eleven in the Uruguayan senior team . With the national team he took part in the Copa America 2007 in Venezuela . He was also appointed by national coach Óscar Tabárez in the squad for the 2010 World Cup . During the tournament he was used five times in the starting lineup. However, he missed the semi-final against the Netherlands due to a yellow card suspension. At the 2014 World Cup in Brazil , as well as at the 2015 Copa América in Chile, he was part of Uruguay's squad.

In total, Fucile has played 44 international matches in which he has not scored a goal. After his 35th international match, there was a phase without an international match that lasted around one and a half years from February 2012 to August 2013. He came to his last assignment for Celeste on June 24, 2015.
