Leipert Motorsport is a German motorsport team from Wegberg .
history
Leipert Motorsport was founded in 2002 and is managed and operated by Ingo and Marcel Leipert .
German Formula 3 Cup
From 2004 to 2012 the team competed in the German Formula 3 Cup . In the first two years, the pilots started mainly in the cup classification. There Marcel Leipert achieved a tenth place in the overall ranking in 2004.
From 2006 to 2012 the Italian Luca Iannacone drove with the team in the trophy classification and won second place there in 2011 .
Ford Fiesta Cup Germany
In 2005 the team entered touring car racing parallel to Formula 3 . The team started three years in the Ford Fiesta Cup and achieved his best result with Christopher Mies in 2007 with fifth place.
ADAC Procar series
With the 2008 season, Leipert Motorsport moved to the 2nd division of the ADAC Procar series and competed there with a Ford Fiesta ST until 2011 . During this time, the team won the championship title in Division 2 with Christopher Mies in 2008 and with Nils Mierschke in 2011 .
ADAC GT Masters
From 2009 to 2013 , the racing team was active in the ADAC GT Masters . An Ascari KZ1R GT3 was used in the first two years . From 2011 , the team switched to Lamborghini and started with a Lamborghini Gallardo LP600 + and in 2013 with a Lamborghini Gallardo FL2 .
Leipert Motorsport achieved the best team result in 2009 with an eighth place in the season ranking. The best result in the drivers' standings was achieved by Roland Rehfeld and Norman Knop in the 2010 season with 13th place.
FIA GT3 European Championship
For one racing season, the team started in 2012 with the two drivers David Mengesdorf and Harald Proczyk in the FIA GT3 European Championship , where they achieved third place in the driver and team standings.
24H Series
Leipert also went the endurance race at the start. The team made its first appearance in a 24-hour race in 2008 in the 24H Series . There, the two Ford Fiesta STs used took second and third place in the A1 classification.
From 2015 to 2019 the team started regularly in the 24H Series and most recently won the team title in the GT classification of the Continents Championship in 2019.
GT4 European Championship
The team has been competing in the GT4 European Championship with a Mercedes-AMG GT4 since 2018 . In 2019 Leipert Motorsport was able to win the team championship and, with the drivers Luci Trefz and Marcus Paverud, also the drivers’s championship.
Lamborghini Super Trofeo
Leipert also starts with a Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo EVO in the Lamborghini brand championship.
