Lengyel ( German Lendl ) is a municipality in Tolna County , in the small area of Bonyhád .

Lengyel is the highest place in Tolna County and lies between Bonyhád and Dombóvár .
history
After the Second World War in Lengyel in 1945 over 12,000 Hungarian Germans were imprisoned in an internment camp in Lengyel. During the time of their captivity their houses and farms were taken over by Hungarians. Entire villages previously inhabited by Danube Swabians ( Banat Swabians ?) Were thus depopulated. Szekler Hungary were settled there. Many of the prisoners were women and children (the men and fathers were either captured or killed).

- The old Appony Castle now houses the post office and kindergarten.

- "Schweizerei" ( Svájceráj ), a Swiss -style stable from the 19th century
