Leo Zirker

Leo Zirker (born November 24, 1937 in Rheinzabern ; † June 4, 2014 in Munich ) was a German Catholic moral theologian , pastoral consultant and university professor .

Life

Leo Zirker studied Catholic theology , including 1962–1964 in Innsbruck (at the University of Innsbruck and at the Canisianum ). It was founded in 1974 with a thesis on John Gründel for Doctor of theology doctorate. From 1974 to 1977 he worked as a pastoral consultant in the parish pastoral care in Munich St. Thomas More, then as a consultant in theological education work at the Cardinal Döpfner House in Freising . From 1986 until his retirement in 2003 he was professor of moral theology and pastoral conversation in the University of applied sciences degree in religious education and church educational work at the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt . He was Vice Dean for the Munich Department of the Faculty (1987–1991), Senator of the University (1991–1995) and Dean of the Faculty for Religious Education and Church Education (1995–1997).

For many years he also took over the management of the "Advisory Service for Church Professions" initiated by Cardinal Döpfner in 1968.

He was buried in the forest cemetery in Bad Tölz .
