Leonhard Hilpert

Leonhard Hilpert (born April 30, 1852 in Obersulzbach ; † March 27, 1934 in Windsheim ) was a butcher and member of the German Reichstag .

Life

Hilpert attended elementary school and learned the butcher's trade. From 1868 to 1877 he worked abroad for his business training, for example in Würzburg , Frankfurt am Main and Hamburg . In 1877 he founded his own business in Windsheim and sold it after 22 years of successful activity in October 1899. He was also co-founder of various credit associations ( Raiffeisen associations ) and founder and first director of the farmers' association for Uffenheim -Windsheim and the surrounding area. From 1893 he was a member of the community college of the city of Windsheim.

From 1893 to 1912 he was a member of the German Reichstag for the constituency of Middle Franconia  6 ( Rothenburg ob der Tauber , Neustadt an der Aisch ) and the Bavarian farmers' union . Between 1899 and 1911 he was also a member of the Bavarian Chamber of Deputies .

His son Hans Hilpert was also a member of the Bavarian state parliament.
