Leonhard Mertz

Brother Leonhard Mertz (* around 1430 in Stierstadt ; † around 1498) was a German Franciscan and organ builder in Frankfurt am Main .

Mertz belonged to the barefoot monastery in Frankfurt and was its guardian in the 1470s . He was mentioned in a document around 1459/61 when he built an organ with 1,400 pipes for the Cathedral of Barcelona.
