The place belonged to the district of the Protestant parish Michelau. A power supply existed from 1902. Since 1921, Lettenreuth has been an independent parish. In 1925 492 people lived in 78 residential buildings in the village. The Protestants were parish in Schwürbitz. 1950 the place had 616 inhabitants and 85 residential buildings. St. Laurence

On July 4, 1753, the foundation stone for the Catholic parish church of St. Laurentius was laid. It was the replacement building for an old hall chapel probably from the 12th century. It was financed by a chapel foundation. The baroque country church was built according to plans by the Bamberg bishopric engineer Johann Jakob Michael Küchel with a central room. It is a two-axis exposed sandstone block building with a slated mansard roof and a ridge turret and is one of the most remarkable country churches on the Upper Main . The consecration was carried out on September 29, 1759 by the Würzburg auxiliary bishop Daniel von Gebsattel.
