Leung Chu Yan ( Chinese  梁柱恩  /  梁柱恩 , Pinyin Liáng Zhùēn ; born April 21, 1979 in Guangdong Province , People's Republic of China ) is a table tennis player and Olympic participant from Hong Kong .

Career

Leung Chu Yan first appeared internationally in 1996 when he reached the quarter-finals in doubles at the Asian Championships . In 2000 and 2003 he was here with his doubles partner Cheung Yuk in the final.

Since 1997 (until 2013) he took part in 14 world championships . He won bronze twice, namely in 2006 and 2008 in the team competition. In 2000 , 2004 , 2008 and 2012 he qualified for participation in the Olympic Games, where he finished fourth with the team in 2012.

The first contact with the German Bundesliga came in 1998. However, as Post SV Telekom Mülheim withdrew its team from professional sport, the planned commitment was not made. In 2003 he joined the Würzburger Hofbräu association. With his men's team he became German champion in the 2004/05 season and reached the final of the ETTU Cup in 2005 and 2007 . In 2007 he moved to TTF Liebherr Ochsenhausen , and one year later to SV Plüderhausen . Here he was the German Cup winner in 2008/09 and won the ETTU Cup. In the 2009/10 season he played for 1. FC Saarbrücken , since 2010 again for SV Plüderhausen, before joining SVS Niederösterreich in 2012 .
