Volkshof is a district of the Upper Swabian market Dirlewang in the Unterallgäu district in Bavaria . The place is located about 2.5 kilometers southeast of the main town and is connected to it by local roads. The Kammlachbächlein , a tributary of the Mindel, runs to the west . The Bannholzwald lies north of Leutenhof and the Mühlwald to the south . Bundesstrasse 16 runs to the east of the wasteland .

The place got its name from the old court name "zu der Liten", which means on the Leite or on the slope . This indicates the slope in the east of the place. The wasteland was first mentioned in 1432 as an inheritance from the rule of Mindelheim . Here, Peter Scheffler was enfeoffed by Ulrich von Teck of the rule of Mindelheim. The farm came into private ownership in 1667 when it was sold to Georg Hörtich from Dorschhausen . Organ builder Johann Georg Hörtich was born on the farm on March 29, 1705 . Since April 1, 1956, the farm has been owned by another family.
