Lexington is a city in Oglethorpe County in the US state of Georgia with 228 inhabitants (as of 2010).

Lexington is about 15 km southeast of Athens and about 120 km east of Atlanta .
history
Lexington was founded on November 24, 1806 and named after the city of Lexington , Massachusetts . The city is the birthplace of George Gilmer , a politician and governor of Georgia.
Demographic data
According to the 2010 census, the 228 inhabitants at that time were distributed over 108 inhabited households, which gives an average of 2.11 people per household. There are a total of 123 households.
62.0% of the households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring) with an average size of 2.70 persons. There were children under the age of 18 in 25.0% of all households and persons aged 65 or over in 29.6% of all households.
