Libverda (German Liebwerd ) is a part of the Děčín XXVII - Březiny district of the city of Děčín (Tetschen) in the Czech Republic .

Geographical location

Libverda is on the right side of the Ploučnice on the road from Děčín to Česká Lípa . The Chlum (444 m) rises to the south and the Pustý vrch (499 m) to the east. The Děčín-východ station is located in the northwest.

Neighboring towns are Folknáře in the northeast, Březiny in the east, Bechlejovice in the southeast, Staré Město in the west and Nové Město in the northwest.

history

The Meierhof Liebenwerde was first mentioned in a document in 1401. The farmyard is probably older, it is believed that it was built between the 11th and 13th centuries to supply the Děčín fortress .

In 1880 Liebwerd consisted of eight houses in which 118 people lived. In 1910 the place had 65 inhabitants and in 1930 there were 59. Libverda formed a district of the municipality Březiny and was incorporated with her in the 1970s to Děčín.

In 1850 the owner of the left manorial Decin, Franz Anton Graf von Thun und Hohenstein , in Meierhof by Anton Emanuel Komers of an agricultural school building, which was the first of its kind in Bohemia. In the same year, the Czech agricultural school in Rábín was established as a counterpart to the German agricultural school in Liebwerd . The school in Liebwerd was elevated to the Royal Bohemian Agricultural Academy Tetschen-Liebwerd in 1880 . One of the most important teachers at this facility was Josef Emanuel Hibsch , whose life's work was the geological exploration and mapping of the Bohemian Central Uplands . From 1920 the agricultural school was called the Tetschen-Liebwerd Agricultural University . In 1921 the academy was affiliated as a department of the German Technical University in Prague . Libverda is now the seat of the Střední škola zahradnická a zemědělská Antonína Emanuela Komerse (Technical School for Horticulture and Agriculture " Anton Emanuel von Komers ") . Attached to the technical school is the Děčín-Libverda school estate, which is located in the Nové Město district.
