Lifted is an American animated / short film from 2006 that was shown in theaters as a supporting film for Ratatouille . It was directed by seven-time Oscar winner Gary Rydstrom . Lifted was nominated for Best Animated Short Film at the 2007 Academy Awards , but received no award.

On June 29, 2007, Lifted ran along with his main film in US cinemas. The cinema release in Germany, Austria and Switzerland was on October 3, 2007. The film premiered on October 14, 2006 at the Chicago International Film Festival .

Before the eyes of a rigorous inspector, an inexperienced teenage alien must correctly operate the thousands of identical switches on the spaceship console. The test task consists in detecting an unsuspecting, sleeping farmer on planet earth with a tractor beam and transporting it precisely from the bedroom window into the spaceship. In the overwhelming stressful situation, the insecure alien makes one mistake after the other: During the kidnapping test, the person hits the wall countless times, and finally the whole spaceship crashes into his house.
