Liga Mayor del Distrito Federal 1933/34

The 1933/34 season was the third season of the Liga Mayor del Distrito Federal , which had had this name since 1931, as well as - taking into account that the competition was prematurely canceled in the 1930/31 season and is therefore not to be regarded as a regular league competition like the centenary tournament Centenario 1921 - the 31st season of the soccer league introduced in Mexico, which was initially called Primera Fuerza . While the competition was originally open to teams from all parts of the country, in the 20 years from 1920 to 1940 it was limited to clubs from Mexico City .

Champion was Real Club España 1 success in the discharged on 24 June 1934 playoff against ": through a two Spanish rivals " CF Asturias , which was thus relegated to second place.

Venues

All league games in 1933 were played - alternating weekly - in Campo Asturias and Parque Necaxa . In 1934, the Parque España de la Verónica was added as a venue , where the final and decisive game between España and Asturias was played.

1 The match between Club Atlante and Real Club España on November 12, 1933 ended with the result of 1: 4 in favor of the Españistas. But because the Real Club España team arrived 18 minutes late and Club Atlante later protested because of the late appearance, the game was rated 1-0 for Atlante.

    Both Real Club España (in Parque España de la Verónica ) and Club Asturias (in Campo Asturias ) exercised their home rights on their own premises, while Club Atlante exercised its home rights in the Parque Necaxa of its arch rival .
