The 1935/36 season was the fifth season of the Liga Mayor del Distrito Federal , which had this name since 1931, as well as - taking into account that the competition in the 1930/31 season was prematurely terminated and is therefore not to be regarded as a regular league competition like the anniversary tournament Centenario 1921 - the 33rd season of the soccer league introduced in Mexico, which initially operated under the name Primera Fuerza . While the competition was originally open to teams from all parts of the country, in the 20 years from 1920 to 1940 it was limited to clubs from Mexico City .

Real Club España , which was the most successful team in Mexican football between the two world wars , became champions for the twelfth time .

Venues

In the first part of the championship, which began in November 1935 and was interrupted at the end of February 1936, all championship games were played in Parque Necaxa and Parque España de la Verónica . After the championship round was resumed in April 1936, the Parque Asturias, which opened in March 1936, also served as a venue twice.
