Ligota Zabrska (German: Ellguth-Zabrze ) is a district of Gliwice (Gleiwitz). Ligota Zabrska is located in the southeast of the city. The Klodnitz runs to the east and north of the district .
The Europa Centralna shopping mall, a large used car market, and the Sośnica-Makoszowy coal mine are located in Ligota Zabrska .
history
The place originated in the 13th century at the latest and was first mentioned in a document in 1297.
In 1865 Ellgoth-Zabrze had eight farm positions, 15 gardeners and 27 cottagers. The residents were parish in Gleiwitz and belonged to the All Saints Church and the students attended the miners' school of the Gleiwitz iron foundry and the parish school in Trynnek. The Ellgoth-Zabrze manor existed next to the village. The communication route from Gleiwitz to Makoschau ran through the village.
In the referendum in Upper Silesia on March 20, 1921, 551 eligible voters voted for Upper Silesia to remain with Germany and 424 for membership in Poland. Ellguth-Zabrze remained with the German Empire after the division of Upper Silesia . In 1927 Ellguth-Zabrze was incorporated into Gleiwitz by the Tost-Gleiwitz district . In 1936, the city in the wake of a wave of local renaming was the Nazi era in Increase renamed.
In 1945 the formerly German town came under Polish administration and was then attached to the Silesian Voivodeship and renamed the Polish Ligota Zabrska . In 1950 the place came to the Katowice Voivodeship . In 1999 the place became part of the new Silesian Voivodeship.
