Beagle Music Ltd. was a project of the German musicians Holger Julian Copp and Hanno Harders (* March 17, 1954, † January 12, 2016).

history

As early as the late 1970s the two worked for the band Sunrise and co-wrote their biggest hit Call on Me , which reached Germany in 27th place, the German version of draw we this evening on the roof of Jürgen Drews even position 21. In the 1980s, as Beagle Music GmbH, they also produced advertising jingles for Natreen , Gammon, Merci , Fewa , Deichmann , Kitekat and Burger King, among others . In the mid-1980s they wrote a melody for a cinema commercial for Langnese ice cream with the line “Like ice in the sunshine I'm melting away on a sunny day”. This was then implemented and broadcast with synthesizers , drum machines , saxophone and an additional singer for a two-minute sun-beach-and-sea commercial. The advertising also worked for the song, which came out in the summer of 1986 in a single version. For this, Copp and Harders turned the production company Beagle Music GmbH into the band Beagle Music Ltd. and reached number 10 in the charts in Germany.

They tried to keep themselves in the CD business with further releases and although the follow-up single Daydream achieved a certain degree of awareness, it remained with the one-time chart success. Copp and Harders stuck to the commercial music and in 1995 had a new basis for a single release with a melody for a scented water commercial for the Gammon brand, but this too remained like all other releases by Beagle Music Ltd. relatively unsuccessful.

They continued to write for other artists and in 1999 Hanno Harders wrote and produced Corinna May's debut album , for which he continued to work in the following years.

Like Ice in the Sunshine made a comeback in the 2000s . Langnese relied again on the successful melody and won national and international musicians of various genres to sing the song for their advertising. Some of these versions were also released as a single. The performers were Anastacia (2001), the No Angels (2002), DJ Tomekk , Westbam and Faithless (2003), Shaggy (2004) and The BossHoss (2005).

A parody of the song, entitled No Sunshine there by Otto Waalkes ( Best of East Friesland and More , 2001).

In 2003, producer Alex Christensen developed the song You're My Angel from the Beagle single Daydream , which became a hit for boy band B3 and reached number 13 in Germany.
