Lilium primulinum var. Ochraceum (Syn. Lilium majoense ) is a variety of the plant species Lilium primulinum from the genus of lilies ( Lilium ) in the Asian section .

description

Lilium primulinum var. Ochraceum reaches a height of 90 to 120 cm. The stem is hard and straight. The leaves are lanceolate with a smooth, waxy surface and are arranged around the stem.

The plant blooms in July with a single or up to three horizontal, trumpet-shaped flowers 6 to 10 cm in diameter. The hermaphrodite flowers are threefold. The six identical bloom cladding sheets ( tepals ) are bent back. The basic color of the flowers is creamy white, partly slightly greenish, the throat is dark red to dark purple in color. The whole flower is densely covered with dark red spots. The anthers are long, slender and cream-colored, the pollen are bright orange. The seeds mature in seed capsules made up of two or four segments. The capsules reach a diameter between 1 and 2 cm and are between five and seven cm long.

The bulbs are round and reach a diameter of 3.5 to 5 cm.

Lilium primulinum var. Ochraceum is found in forests and on grassy slopes and altitudes between 1100 and 3100 m.

This variety is endemic to the People's Republic of China ; it is found in the provinces of Guizhou , Sichuan and northwestern Yunnan .

Systematics

Lilium primulinum var. Ochraceum is rare and has also been described as a separate species, Lilium majoense . It is very closely related to Lilium nepalense and was previously thought to be a variety of Lilium henrici .
