Lina (also Line ) is a female given name , which is mostly traced back to the abbreviation of a name based on this ending ( -lina ), such as Angelina , Evelina , Karolina or Paulina .

According to another derivation, it is the feminine form of the Latin name Linus , which can be traced back to the second bishop of Rome ( Linus ).
